Blarney Man to Captain Cork Team 2018-05-16 19:07:00

Shane Barrett has been selected as the Cork Hurling Minor team Captain for 2018. Along with Shane, Paudie Power has also been named on the Cork team to play Clare in their opening Munster Championship clash.

This is yet another great piece of history to go with the great hurling tradition these two lads have with Blarney. Paudie’s brother Conor was involved with last year’s Cork Minor Hurling Panel who lost an All Ireland Hurling Final while Shane’s brother Cian is a prominent underage player for Blarney and his father Michael stood as Underage Chairman in Blarney GAA for a number of years.

Blarney representation on Sunday does not stop there; however, as Mark Coleman hopes to pick up the form which saw him receive an All Star Award for last year’s campaign when he lines out for the Cork Senior Hurling team for their Round Robin opening fixture v Clare.

Best of luck to our three Blarney lads this Sunday in Pairc UiChaoimh as Mark Coleman lines out for the Cork Senior team this Sunday in their opening Round Robin game v Clare at 4pm and Paudie Power and Shane Barrett take to the field with the minor team beforehand at 2pm.
