Mark Coleman Celebrations 2017-11-05 15:52:00

On Sunday 5th November at 11:30 Blarney GAA welcomed home its very first All Star- Mark Coleman. There was a fantastic turnout for our young hero. Martin Lynch, Club Chairman, started proceedings by giving great acknowledgment to the entire Coleman family who have given massive support to the club over the generations.

Our special guest MC on the day, C103 & 96fm’s Finbar McCarthy then took over. He first started with Declan Hanlon and Shane Barrett. He quizzed our two U17 All Ireland winners on the great season they both had with the county. We are certain that these two young men have serious futures ahead of them in both the red of Blarney and Cork.

Now it was Mark’s turn. He walked out of the clubhouse and out onto the stage to a thunderous applause. It was quite clearly evident how proud everyone is of him. He spoke with Finbar for a short while before giving a few words of his own. To finish off the proceedings, club President, Michael O’Leary then presented Mark with the Paddy Cremen Trophy. This is awarded to the best adult hurler each year. We have a feeling it was an easy pick this time round.

Big thanks must go to all those who helped prepare for this occasion. You all know who you are. We would also like to extend our thanks to C103 & 96fm’s Finbar McCarthy for his wonderful involvement in the celebrations.

On behalf of the club, we would once again like to congratulate Mark on a wonderful achievement and such an exciting start to his career.Click here for photos
