The 2020 Blarney GAA AGM was held online on Thursday November 26.
It was strange to say the least yet gave us an opportunity to look back at an even stranger year.
Both Jim McCarthy, Chairperson, & Jim McEvoy, Secretary, spoke in depth about the events of the past year and gave thanks to all those who helped out in anyway over the past twelve months. Ruth Houlihan, Treasurer, gave an in depth report on the financial situation of the club. Paul O’Leary spoke on behalf of the Intermediate management giving thanks to both the Executive and all supporters of the club in the part they played on their run to County success. Joe Jordan reiterated the point that this success did not happen overnight and was indeed testament to hard work and dedication put in by past managers and coaches over the previous number of years.
Patrick “Pop” Crowley was named Blarney GAA Player of the Year for 2020. A formal presentation of the Paddy Cremen trophy will be held at a later date with the Cremen family.
